COME SPIN OUR WHEELS!

The Center on Central offers instruction in both handbuilding and pottery wheel, suited to a variety of different ages and levels of experience. You will find descriptions of regularly scheduled weekly classes and open studio time listed below.

In addition, you can schedule a 90 minute, private, workshop-style class at a cost of $75 for private session, or bring a friend and pay $60 each, or bring 2 friends and pay $50 each, or bring 3 friends and pay $40 each for the class, plus $10 per person for supplies.

This pricing and time allotted includes firing your piece after the session. You can return to glaze your piece at open studio time (for a second firing afterward) at the reduced rate of $20 per person for a single visit.

Our spring schedule of classes will soon transition to a “Summer Pick-6″ – each offering is listed below. More offerings may be added, so please check back or contact us if there’s something you’d like that you don’t see or that you might like repeated at a different time.

We also have pottery modules within our Creative Arts Summer Day Camp on selected afternoons and also have Pottery Specialty Camps running 9:15am-12:15pm during the weeks of June 17-21, June 24-28, July 8-12 and August 5-9.

We do offer a 10% discount on all our rates to members.

*Summer Pick-6: Pottery*

The following Pottery classes will meet throughout the summer:

Tuesdays, 4:30pm-6:00pm: Pottery – Open Studio

Tuesdays, 6:00pm-7:30pm: General Pottery – Hand and Wheel (for adults)

Wednesdays, 4:45pm-6:15pm: General Pottery – Hand and Wheel (all ages)

Saturdays, 10:00am-11:30am: General Pottery – Hand and Wheel (all ages)

You may register below and prepay for 6 classes, choosing which 6 you will attend

Upon registration, a deposit of $50 is due. Please click the payment button below to place your deposit via credit card.

Balance will be automatically billed to the same credit card shortly after your deposit is processed, and is non-refundable. Alternately, you may make a check payable to The Center on Central, LLC and mail to P.O. Box 1293, Southeastern, PA 19399.

General Pottery: Hand and Wheel (all ages)

This course will explore the potter’s wheel, cover handbuilding approaches to clay, along with techniques of surface decoration. Beginning and advanced students are welcome.

Clay Time explores the many techniques involved in handbuilding. Students will learn to make functional pottery through exploration of slab building, pinch pot and coil building methods. Each child will be guided through three separate projects, using each of the three techniques. Students will then choose a preferred method/methods to create a final piece.

Pottery - Handbuilding for adults

Students will learn to create pieces inspired by some of your favorite catalogues. Each week, we will be building and decorating clay pieces that can be used to style your home and the homes of your friends.

Pottery - Open Studio

Type:	Pottery

Day/Time:	Tuesday, 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Cost:	$40 per visit (currently enrolled students can buy a 6-pack of visits for $120 or a 12-pack for $200), plus $30 for non-enrolled students materials fee. Deposit: $20.

Open Studio time is available to any currently enrolled student (up to 2-1/2 hours each Tuesday) at the rate of $120 for a 6-visit pack, or $200 for a 12-visit pack.

Open Studio time is also available to the general public, after taking part in a pottery workshop/assessment at The Center on Central – at the rate of $40 per visit, plus $30 for supplies (which includes a 25 lb. bag of clay, as well as glaze and firing of this clay).

Pottery - Private and Semi-Private Wheel Instruction for beginners

Cost:	$40 per class based on 4 registrants, $50 per class, based on 3 registrants, $50 per class, based on 3 registrants - or $75 per class for private class, plus $10 per person, per class materials fee. Class is limited to 1-4 individuals.

Pottery - Wheel class for teens and adults

This course will introduce the basics of throwing on the potter’s wheel. First, students will explore basic forms that can be made on the wheel. Later, students will be encouraged to work their way up to more complex forms with their instructor’s guidance.

Class is limited to 4 individuals; pricing is based on a class of 3.
