Studio 4 The Young Artist

Studio 4 is a place for young artists to experience painting and drawing in a studio setting. Brainstorming techniques will be used to create themes and compositions. The young artist will learn how to use their imagination in a group dynamic – as well as individually – and will create art at their own pace, enjoying the atmosphere of an artists’ studio.

Studio 4 the Young Artist is a fun way to experience and introduce different ways to create art. At the end of the session, we will hold a gallery show for all students to showcase art they created.

Art - Comic Book Club for ages 6 & up

Type: Studio 4 The Young Artist
Group: Elementary School, Teens

Day/Time: Wednesday, 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Cost: $15 per class, with 6-class minimum. Deposit: $50.

Create characters and a storyline and put it all together to make a real comic book. Students will create characters and modify them to make them fun and easy to draw. Each student will practice sketching, drawing, and shading. A fun storyline will be created and edited to fit with the comic book. Coloring techniques will be explored.

Art - Sketch Club for ages 8 & up

Day/Time: Wednesday, 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Cost: $22.50 per class, with 6-class minimum. Deposit: $50.
Individual/drop-in sessions: Drop-ins welcome at $27 per class (check ahead for space availability).

Sketch Club is a sketch, draw, and color class exploring alternative ways to bring ideas to life. The students will learn sketch techniques to create line, form and mass, as well as creative color and tinting. The class will use traditional and non-traditional mediums to create art in a fun way. Ideas will come alive while the student explores imagination and creativity.

Please bring any size sketchbook, reference material, and ideas to the first class.

Art - Studio 4: Painting (grades 4-12)

Day/Time: Saturday, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Cost: $30 per class, with 6-class minimum, plus $55 materials fee. Deposit: $50.

Studio 4 is a place for young artists to experience painting and drawing in a studio setting. Drawings will be made and color techniques applied to sketches. A free flowing, aggressive painting style will be encouraged to promote confident brushwork, and to overcome the fear of making mistakes. Other mediums will be explored, such as collage and texture techniques.
