In-Service and Holiday Creative Arts Camp

Please join us at The Center of Central for our In-Service Days creative arts camp for children in grades K-5

Camp runs the following dates, from 9:00am-4:00pm

5/3, 5/13, 5/18
(if you don’t see your school’s in-service day listed, we can create a camp just for you! We need a minimum of 5 prepaid registrations to run this camp on any school in-service day or holiday).

Extended day (Before Care beginning at 8:00am and/or after care continuing to 5:00pm) is also available. Please bring your own lunch.

The arts are an excellent way to transition between levels of structure in our lives. Music, art and dance/movement can be very structured and directed, but they also allow for free choice within activities (such as what colors to use, what instrument to play, what prop to select).

• In Music group, we will engage in songwriting activities, live musical improvisations, drumming and imagery/storytelling to music.

• In Art, we will create individual projects and a group project. We will “complete the picture” around the table, create murals, use multimedia for various projects and work with 2-D media for fine motor work as a preparation for pencil/paper tasks in school.

• In Dance/Movement we will use parachutes and scarves, as we increase awareness of our bodies in space and of the non-verbal messages we send.

In addition to these core offerings, we will also, on certain days based on instructor availability, include sessions with some of our other offerings at The Center on Central, such as pottery, poetry/storytelling, drama/improvisation and yoga.

The cost of the program on a daily basis is $75 per day.

There is an extended day option to begin at 8:00am, for an additional $10 per day, as well as a separate extended day option to end at 5:00pm, for an additional $10 per day.

A non-refundable $50 deposit per session is required to reserve your child’s place. The balance will be billed to your credit card immediately after.
